I'm here to help:
At 25, I was promoted to Director of the University of Calgary Outdoor Centre—an organization facing a $300,000 deficit and the risk of closure. Despite having leadership education and some experience, I wasn’t prepared for the real-world challenges I faced. But I made a promise: if I survived this and got good at leading, I would create a course to help emerging leaders like you succeed in practical, high-pressure situations.
And I did more than survive—I thrived.
That’s when Leading Lightly was born: a commitment to help others navigate the challenges of leadership with ease. Over the years, I’ve led various organizations and teams of up to 1,250 staff and 3,000 volunteers, and today, as a current CEO, I spend some extra time to continue to empower leaders through courses, podcasts, videos, and limited consulting.
